About Troop Leadership
Instead of being 100% adult-led, most Boy Scout troops rely on a system called the patrol method. with this system, scouts are annually elected into a number of important leadership positions, and those scouts run the troop, as opposed to the adult leaders, in most cases.
Patrols
Troops are split into smaller groups of scouts called patrols. patrols work together at meetings, cook together on camping trips, etc. Troop 193 has 3 patrols: the Nighthawks, Seabears, and Raptors.

•The Senior patrol leader leads the patrol leaders, and is in many other ways in charge of the troop.
•The Quartermaster manages and distributes the troop's shared gear; things like tents, rope, and cooking equipment.
•The Webmaster manages the troop website, which you are reading right now.
•The Outdoor ethics guide is in charge of upholding the outdoor code on camping trips by doing things like making sure the scouts are being respectful of their environment, and organizing trash sweeps.
•The Historian writes accounts of camping trips, and updates the troop's photo wall.
•The Scribe takes notes at troop meetings and PLC meetings.
